I aim to reply within a few working days. This is a free project maintained in spare time, so a slow week happens, a follow-up nudge is fine if something looks urgent.
What to include
A few details turn “it did not work” into something fixable. If you are reporting a problem with a download, please include:
- the scrip code or company name you searched for, the six-digit code is the most useful, since symbols are not always unique;
- the date range you asked for;
- the exact error message shown in the console, if any;
- what you expected instead, particularly if the file downloaded fine but a specific figure looks wrong.
Things worth checking first
- A price that looks impossibly wrong is very often a stock split or bonus issue rather than a bug. The data is unadjusted, here is why.
- Blank delivery columns are expected on recent rows, and on some older ones. Delivery data comes from a separate BSE file on its own schedule, the delivery guide covers it.
- Missing days are usually weekends, exchange holidays, or genuine no-trade days, which are far more common on BSE than on NSE, because thousands of listed scrips trade only occasionally. See what this data covers.
- A column you do not recognise:
WAP,Spread H-L,Spread C-O, is covered in the column reference. - A symbol that will not resolve may be listed under a different ticker, or may not be in the active equity list at all. Try the scrip code, or read how scrip codes work.
Other reasons to write
- Corrections to the guides. If something in the written material is inaccurate or out of date, I would rather know.
- Feature requests. Useful, though no promises, the scope is deliberately narrow.
- Privacy questions, covered in the privacy policy.
